International Feed-in Cooperation welcomes Greece as a new Member State

On January 26, Greece has officially joined the International Feed-in Cooperation. The Greek Minister of Environment, Energy and Climate Change Mr. Giorgos Papakonstantinou signed the joined declaration in the presence of the German Ambassador Mr. Roland Wegener, the Slovenian Ambassador Mr. Robert Basej, and the Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Embassy, Mr. Felix Martinez-Burgos. The accession ceremony took place as part the 9th Workshop of the International Feed-in Cooperation, which took place in Athens and was successfully organized by the Greek Ministry of Environment, Energy and Climate Change. During the two-day workshop, representatives from the IFIC member countries Greece, Slovenia, Spain and Germany but also from Italy, Egypt, Finland, Canada and other European and North African countries had the opportunity to present and discuss new developments regarding their feed-in systems. The IFIC members agreed on conclusions that highlight the importance of feed-in schemes to effectively and efficiently support renewable energy and that gather the most important aspects of successful feed-in schemes.
